about
Mid 90's.. I thought that we, the boomers, needed an anthem... John Glover, an esteemed colleague, musician & old friend, called me one night after listening to this demo to tell me this song really touched his spirit... John, that meant so much to me....
Another very rough demo.. sorry to keep apologizing for the quality & arrangements of my songs, but I never put onto tape what I heard in my head.... Perhaps I carried them too close to my heart...
lyrics
Middle Age
In younger days, we would always presume,
We knew it all, or at least we would know it soon..
But the years formed clouds, and showered riddles like rain,
Flooding our minds, filling our shallow brains..
Oh…Middle age..
The passion of youth is such a blind hot flash..
Poor passion can weary next to cold hard cash.. uh huh..
So we drive real fast in our money machines..
And travel a road that’s paved in broken dreams..oh no..
Oh….Middle age...
Standing in the center of life, not young & not old..
(Keep your vision clear.. keep your spirit near home..)
Questioning the choices I’ve made, both timid and bold..
(Listen to your memories, you’ll ride a gentle breeze home..)
Somewhere near the middle, of my future & past..
(There’s a need in me..to bring my destiny home..)
In-between the journey of life, from the first to the last…
In wonder days, we would always assume..
We knew it all, or at least we would know it soon..
Then the years formed clouds, raining riddles in vain..
Flooded our minds, we drowned in shallow brains.. (face down)
Oh…Middle age..

I've posted some barely adequate recordings here, many bad writer's renditions, of a few songs I've written in my life.
Most of my songs never recorded, likely never will be. No matter, just mutterings to myself. I'm a lyricist who believes that language is a dog chasing it's tail. Didn't immerse into human life as I probably should've, or perhaps I immersed too much. The dark births the light....more

Turbulent indie rock from Levi Fuller & the Library that has the snarl of hardcore and the knotty meter of math rock. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 13, 2018
