Was given the script to "TRACK 29" by producer RICK McCALLUM, a film starring GARY OLDMAN and THERESA RUSSELL. The plot was just psychotic enough for me to wrap my insanity around it. Adapted a song I had just begun to write, a FLOYDISH kind of tune, and hastily recorded it on spec at Ron Johnson's studio (thank you RON!) with my musical partner and friend, JK LOFTIN. JOHN LENNON'S "MOTHER" won out in the end, though McCALLUM strung me out for months. I ran into OLDMAN a few years later, informed me the LENNON tune was recorded by a sound-alike artist. JK's guitar solo gives me chills to this day.. There's more to the story... But the song stands on it's own.
lyrics
IT’S CLEARLY UNCLEAR
Hello Mummy dear.. I’ve come back to stay..
We’ve drifted too far away, mother.. so I’ve come back to stay..
Well Father wouldn’t say, what was on his mind..
He’s just a space in time, just a space in time..
What’s on your mind, Papa…what’s on your mind…
Baby’s come home.. and baby wants to play..
Will you be my playground today, Mama.. I’ve come home to play
Oh Mama’s in need.. but the need is unclear..
And Baby’s here to feed.. on your guilt and your fear..
Leading us here.. leading us here…
It’s clearly unclear, what’s been leading you here…
It seems to me, your reality has been realized…
But can we believe, what our senses perceive..
Is it a clever disguise.. do we materialize..
A world we need to see…
Help me Mother dear, oh Mummy can’t you hear..
Hear baby cry…
Baby wants a kiss, and all the love he missed..
Don’t let baby die..
And never say goodbye… We’ll never say goodbye…
There’s no reason asking why.. We’ll never say goodbye…

I've posted some barely adequate recordings here, many bad writer's renditions, of a few songs I've written in my life.
Most of my songs never recorded, likely never will be. No matter, just mutterings to myself. I'm a lyricist who believes that language is a dog chasing it's tail. Didn't immerse into human life as I probably should've, or perhaps I immersed too much. The dark births the light....more
